WIS-Italia was founded in 2015 by two surgeons, Dr. Isabella Frigerio and Dr. Gaya Spolverato, aiming to support, encourage and promote women surgeons. WIS-Italia has members in all fields of surgery and is connected to other associations of women surgeons worldwide. Male members are welcome: we are actively looking for He for She allies. The hope is that one day, this society will no longer be needed and that it will ultimately be dissolved.
