Artificial Intelligence Surgery: A New Journey with New Members

Under the leadership of Prof. Andrew Gumbs, Editor-in-Chief of Artificial Intelligence Surgery (AIS), the Editorial Office of AIS successfully held an online Editorial Board meeting on 21 September 2022 to greet 32 new Editorial Board members and discuss a published white paper and future development plans for AIS.

As of September 2022, 32 distinguished scholars whose research fields focus on the intersection of artificial intelligence and surgery newly joined the Editorial Board of AIS. In June 2022, AIS published a white paper titled "Definition of Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Action in Clinical Surgery" carefully planned by 20 Editorial Board members for over a year. Therefore, the Editorial Office of AIS organized this meeting, and the agenda is as follows:
1. Greet the new Editorial Board members.
2. Recent developments of AIS: publications, white papers and citations.
3. Future direction of AIS: podcasts, guidelines, Special Issues, and webinars.
